Since March 2020, Mirela has been collaborating with Paradoxx Films, an independent, award-winning film company and creative hub from NYC. She participated in the pre-production and production of the short fiction film 'Memories' in the role of artistic director and also created the poster for the film. The production of the film was funded through a Kickstarter campaign supported by 89 donors.

Theme of the short film is about the universal experience of migration, love and loss. It follows Bruno, who is expecting his first baby with Jasmine. He is dealing with memories about his past and migrant experience from Africa.

The film is influenced by various artists' voices from the Balkans, West Africa, US and Europe. By joining forces, this group of global artists are showing a universal narrative about migration while celebrating ordinary people

'The Memories' won Best Narrative Short at the Los Angeles Film Awards, USA, in December 2022.

The official release of the film was in February 2023 at the Toronto Black Film Festival in Canada.

Mirela's statement for the poster:

"This poster, which I created, is linked to the short fiction film 'Memories'. However, it also results from my broader exploration of the topic of memory, condensing ten years of exploration into visual language and universal symbols. The color palette is limited to black and grey. I aimed to achieve simplicity and sophistication simultaneously by using a round black shape that appears to generate movement of other particles (shapes) in the image. It is ambiguous whether these particles are entering the larger shape or emerging from it and moving towards the edge of the image. For me, there is the whole universe in this image."
